Annotation

The film tells about how the anthropomorphic robot FEDOR (Final Experimental Demonstration Object Research), aka Skybot F-850 (Skybot F-850), aka just Fedor, was created. Fedor's birthplace is the industrial city of Magnitogorsk, it was here that he was invented, developed and assembled.

Initially, the robot was trained for service in the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The initial task was to develop an artificial lifeguard that had to run, crawl and lift weights quickly.

It was planned that the robot would help with the analysis of rubble, however, it quickly became clear that a fearless, powerful and at the same time plastic machine is needed not only on Earth, and then there was a task of other, already cosmic scales.

The decision to send Fedor into orbit was made just a few months before the launch.

During this time, it was necessary to bring all robot systems in line with the requirements of the space industry, first of all, according to reliability criteria.

Fedor consists of more than 15 thousand parts and failure of any of them would mean the failure of the experiment.

Fedor has a combined control system: he can work independently or in operator control mode (Avatar program).

The experiment with space flight and work on the ISS together with its crew was successful, the robot was able to perform all the tasks that are assigned to ordinary astronauts.

The film starred Alexander Kaleri, head of the RSC Energia Flight and Space Center, senior Researcher at the Scientific Department of the Yu.A. CPC. Gagarina Yuri Chebotarev, cosmonaut Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, Professor Tatiana Abramzon, Professor Evgeny Omelchenko, Professor Mikhail Chukin, Academician Lev Zeleny, Head of the Robotics Laboratory of the ICI RAS Tatiana Kozlova, as well as representatives of the NGO "Android Technology": General Director Alexander Permyakov, Executive Director Evgeny Dudorov, head of the NTO in the direction of "Space Robotics" Boris Kolbasin, project manager Nikita Ryazanov, Management System Manager Alexander Shponko, designer Olga Kupriyanova.
