In the Moscow NPP Zvezda, new spacesuits for working in outer space are being tested.

The current "Eagles" are similar only in appearance to their ancestor, the "Berkut" spacesuit, in which Alexey Leonov first went overboard 50 years ago.

As far as equipment is concerned, a modern spacesuit is almost a one-person spaceship with an autonomous control and life support system.

Boris Mikhailov, a veteran of the Zvezda NPP, Gennady Glazov, the chief specialist of the test department of the Zvezda NPP, and cosmonaut Alexey Leonov talk about spacesuits.

The international crew with the call sign "Altair" is already at the cosmodrome, where the Soyuz TMA-16M spacecraft is being prepared.

Cosmonauts Gennady Padalka and Mikhail Kornienko plan to conduct many scientific experiments on the ISS, including in outer space.

Part of the scientific research will continue the series of experiments started by the previous expedition.

Weather satellites watch our planet around the clock.

According to their data, maps of cloud coverage, wind direction and speed, monitoring of cyclones are compiled.

No weather forecast is possible without these space complexes.

The Russian group of weather satellites will be replenished with the new Electro-L spacecraft No. 2. Tests of the device are coming to an end at the Lavochkin NPO, the launch is planned for 2015. The first Electro-L satellite was launched in 2011. In total, three weather satellites of this series will operate in geostationary orbit.

In addition, Russia plans to launch another large-scale project - the Arctic-M hydrometeosystem.

These satellites will provide Roshydromet with data for weather forecasting, will monitor emergencies, conduct environmental monitoring of the environment, etc.

Interview: Alexey Babenko, Deputy Director for Production of SIC "Planeta", Gennady Eliseev, Deputy Director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Valery Solovyov, Head of the Department of Space Meteorology of SIC "Planeta", Alexander Mitkin, Head of the Center for the Design of Space Systems and Complexes of NPO Lavochkin, Nikolay Abrosimov, specialist of SIC "Planeta".

Cosmonautics. Asteroids are attacking. (2014)

Footage, 1 footage, Duration: 0:08:10 to collection V4 9/9/2022

Our planet is attacked daily by thousands of fragments of asteroids and comets.

Small ones, the size of a pea, burn up in the atmosphere before reaching the surface.

Other space guests can also fly to Earth.

Recently, with the help of the Russian robotic telescope network, astrophysicist Vladimir Lipunov discovered the potentially dangerous asteroid 2014 UR116, its size is larger than the asteroid Apophis already known to earthlings, however, there is no answer yet how seriously this asteroid threatens the Earth.

Today, scientists around the world are working on creating a system for monitoring space objects that threaten the Earth.

The plot starred Boris Shustov, Alexander Bagrov, Vladimir Lyapunov, Stanislav Korotky.

For the first time in the history of mankind, a module of earthlings called "Philae" should land on the surface of a comet.

Discovered by Soviet astronomers Klim Churyumov and Olga Gerasimenko in 1969, the comet is of great interest.

The European Rosetta spacecraft has caught up with the comet and is preparing to land a lander on it, whose task is to fly with the comet to the Sun.

The plot starred Stanislav Korotky, Leonid Ksanfomaliti, Alexander Bagrov, Maxim Litvak.

The first specialists from Baikonur arrived at the site, their task is to install the equipment of the future Russian cosmodrome.

Roscosmos specialists are mounting a mobile vertical maintenance tower for Soyuz-2 launch vehicles, and installation and test buildings are being erected nearby, where launch vehicles and spacecraft will be assembled.

There is one year left before the first start from Vostochny.

The plot starred Viktor Kalyuzhny, project manager of the Soyuz-2 launch complex, Alexander Kildishev, head of the Motor Design Bureau, Andrey Okhlopkov, Deputy General Director of FSUE TsENKI, Yuri Petrenko, Deputy Director of the Vostochny CC branch, Oleg Ostapenko, head of Roscosmos, Peter Baranov, First Deputy head of the TSENKI branch.

Another type of tests for astronauts has been added to survival in the desert, in the winter forest and on the water: now future conquerors of orbits practice actions during an emergency landing in mountainous terrain, training takes place in the Caucasus mountains.

This test is not just a test of endurance, the trajectory of future manned launches from the Vostochny cosmodrome will partially pass over the mountains.

The plot of Natalia Burtseva, the participants of the campaign: rescuers of the Tuapse detachment "Centrospas" Alexey Savchenko and Konstantin Rastegaev, cosmonauts Anna Kikina, Oleg Blinov, Andrey Fedyaev, Sergey Korsakov, Dmitry Petelin.
